Our exercises are safe for the general adult population

We don’t use any exercises that could be considered dangerous or unsuitable for anyone over the age of 50. While we do use challenging movements and some fun equipment, our routines are designed by a team with experience, knowledge, and training in exercise for adults and we guarantee safety is the highest priority. The misconception is often that “safe” means “easy”, and we can promise you that is not the case!  If you aren’t being challenged, you aren’t going to see results. But we ensure that while you are being challenged, we are keeping you safe!

Any fitness or experience level can participate

Our phrase is this: “Every exercise is taught to three levels of fitness.” What this means is that our routines are appropriate for everyone over the age of 50. From someone who has never stepped foot into a gym before, to someone who has been a gym rat all their life. And everything In between. The three levels of fitness we refer to are beginner, intermediate, and advanced.  For every exercise we include in our routines, there are ways to make it slightly easier, or even slightly harder to accommodate all fitness levels as well as any personal restrictions one may have.

Strive for progress

Along with the “three levels of fitness” we just described, another benefit of our program is it allows for progression.  This means that as you get stronger and fitter, you are able to continue with the program and also continue to be challenged by utilizing the more advanced options for each exercise. And if you get to the point where you are doing all of the advanced options, never fear, our professional personal trainers know ways to think outside the box and give you a new challenge! The sky’s the limit!

We focus on six main areas of fitness.

Some programs out there focus on cardiovascular health. Others focus on muscular health. Others on cognitive ability and things like balance. Defy Aging believes no one area is more important than another. This is why we focus on six areas of what we call “functional fitness." What this means for you is that within your Defy Aging workouts, we have made sure to include work in all of the following areas: cognitive, muscular, skeletal, cardiovascular, balance, and mobility. Take a look at the chart below for more details on what each of these entails. Defy Aging leaves nothing out. We want you to be strong in all ways!

We offer individual support and guidance

Our program believes support is just as important as the actual exercise! When you join Defy Aging, you won’t just be thrown into a group and wished “good luck.” You will receive support, guidance, and help with setting goals!

Fitness Consult

We believe it is important to know about YOU. Before your first Defy session we will ask about your previous exercise experience, medical history so we can be sure to keep you safe, and we will see where you are starting from physically by doing some basic movements with you. This is also where we will learn about what you are hoping to improve and what brought you in to start this life changing program.

Personal Trainers

With Defy Aging, you will not have a “class instructor.” You will have a Personal Trainer who is there to assist with your entire Defy Aging experience. From helping you schedule your Defy Aging sessions, to assisting with setting achievable goals, to guiding and helping you through workouts, to educate you on ways to be healthy even outside of the gym...our personal trainers are there for you!

Goal Setting

Our professionals will help you to set goals to keep you motivated and accountable. Goals are unique to everyone; each and every person has their own personal goals and reasons for joining our program. Without continued goal setting, education on how to take the small steps necessary to reach those goals, and the support to help see you through, your success can often be left up to chance.  And we don’t want that!
